The Physical Therapy Clinic at Olin Student Health Center is an orthopaedic outpatient department specializing in functional recovery and injury prevention.

Our staff have years of clinical experience treating a vast range of orthopaedic and sporting conditions. Therapists continuously train to remain updated at the forefront of theoretical and clinical knowledge.

General services include those for:

• Orthopaedic injuries
• Foot orthotic fabrication
• Back and neck problems
• Ergonomic/Worksite evaluations
• TMJ disorders
• Sports injuries

Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation on their first visit and a tailor-made treatment program with clearly defined goals and 'plan of care'. Educating our patients, we believe, is an essential component to promote understanding, compliance and best possible short and long term recovery.

Modalities of Care

To aid therapists we have a variety of modalities that are available including:

• Ultrasound,
• Electrical stimulation,
• Surface Electro-myographic feedback (sEMG),
• Mechanical traction,
• lontophoresis,
• Hot and cold packs,
• Fluidotherapy

Our licensed therapy staff work closely with physicians and keep them regularly updated using our computer assisted EMR (electronic medical record) system.

Access to Care

Physical therapy services are available to all MSU students, faculty and staff members and their spouse/domestic partner. A signed and dated prescription is needed from a physician (MD, DO), physician's assistant (PA), dentist (DDS) or podiatrist (DPM). Services are available by appointment.

Is there a fee?

Charges will vary depending on services required.

Depending on the coverage of individual health insurance policies there may be a co-pay (money paid at the time of service). For details contact your insurance provider and ask if there is a co-pay. Location & Parking

We are conveniently located on campus in the lower level of Olin Student Health Center.

Metered parking is available next door in the Grand River Parking Ramp. The Olin Courtesy Van is also available for transportation to and from Olin Health Center, within one mile of campus.
