Who can use this service?
MSU students are encouraged to utilize the service for all health-related questions. MSU faculty and staff may utilize the service for work-related illness or injury concerns.
What information can the Phone Information Nurse provide?
The Phone Information Line can give callers: general health information; directions to the appropriate clinic or specialty service that can most appropriately meet their needs; and information regarding Olin Health Center services, and campus and community resources. The Phone Information Line is intended to provide only basic information, and is not considered a substitute for a provider's diagnosis and treatment.
Is there a charge for this service?
Callers are not charged for this service.
Who actually answers the questions?
Registered nurses handle all calls between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. On weekends and after 5 pm on weekdays, the phone will initially be answered by a receptionist who is trained to answer questions about resources, hours, and general administrative information. Medical questions will be transferred to a registered nurse.
Test results are generally available 24 to 48 hours after testing is complete. Results are available via the Internet or through the automated phone system, 24 hours per day!
Accessing Test Results
Patients who are getting test results via the Internet should:
- Go to www.mytestresults.com.
- Customer Number, enter: 8662882480
- Client Login/UID: Enter your student number without the 'A' (or your Medical Record Number)
- PIN: Enter your six digit birth date (e.g., 050890)
Test results are usually available 24 to 48 hours after the test is done. If your results are not in the automated system 72 hours after testing, please call the Phone Information Nurse at 353-5557 Monday through Friday 9 am to noon or 1 pm to 5 pm.
Patients getting test results through the 24-Hour Test Results Line should:
- Dial 1.866.288.2480 (toll free).
- When asked for a Unique Identifier Number, enter your Student Number without the 'A' (or Medical Record Number)
- When asked for a Patient Identification Number, enter your six digit birth date (e.g., 062588)
