Lab Tests

 

NO Appointment is necessary!

Have you been a patient at Olin Health Center? If not, bring insurance information and register in the Olin system.

Fasting:

  • Fasting blood sugar requires an 8 hr fast.
  • Lipid Profile/Panel requires a 10-12 hr fast.
  • When fasting for these tests you can have small sips of water.

Services

Patients must provide a written lab request/order from a licensed provider for all laboratory testing. Patients who are continuing care with their hometown doctor can have lab requests faxed to (517) 432-0457. If you have an appointment with your hometown provider, allow 3-5 days for your test results to be completed. Test results are faxed to the ordering provider when tests are completed.

Hometown provider requests should include:

  • Patient's name and date of birth
  • Test request
  • Diagnosis
  • Ordering provider's name, address, phone and fax number


The laboratory will collect Drug Screen specimens for:

  • Court Ordered requests require you to bring in the written court request and probation officer's name, phone and fax number. Court ordered drug screening must be paid on the date of collection.
  • Pre-employment requests require you to bring in the employer request, contact name, phone and fax number, and billing information.The laboratory will bill the employer or the patient can pay for the services and be reimbursed.


Test results can be received by:

  • Patients who have seen an Olin Provider - results are available online using the Televox system, or copies of results are available by request in Medical Records.
  • Patients who have seen a hometown provider - results are faxed to the provider, or copies of results are available by request in the laboratory.

Hours

Monday - Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm.

Location & Parking

We are conveniently located on campus in the lower level of Olin Student Health Center in Room B25.

Metered parking is available next door in the Grand River Parking Ramp.
